Children & Families

Children Belong in Church.

Coming to Church with Children?

This is what you can expect on a normal Sunday:

  • Join us at 9 am for Christian Formation for children and their adult companions.

  • The children participate in the Gospel Procession, where they follow the Cross and the Gospel book while the congregation sings a hymn.

  • After the Gospel Procession, your children will be invited to go with the Rev. Alex Quick, our Children and Family minister for a short lesson returning during the Peace.

  • We’d love you to utilize the soft space at the front of the church where children and their caregivers can enjoy the service.

  • Children and their families belong in church. Please don’t worry about their questions or their noise. We enjoy them. If your child is finding it difficult to settle, the nursery is always available to them and to you.

  • Children’s Spiritual Formation is both Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) for our preschool-Kindergarten children and Children in Worship for the 1st-5th graders. CGS is Montessori based program to help the children of our church know and love God. Classes are held from 9-10:15 am on Sunday mornings.
